Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara was born on February 28, 1948. She is an American actor, singer, and children's writer. She has appeared on television, film, musical theatre and solo shows, in addition to recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six years. She is a highly-acclaimed Broadway performer, having received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway parts.
Peters is widely recognized as the most well-known interpreter for the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
